This is the procedure for students who hold a conditional offer of a place at Matthew Arnold Sixth Form. Enrolment is completed through your Applicaa account - link below.
Once you receive your GCSE results please calculate your APS score and check you have met the APS entry requirement against the subjects you wish to take at A-Level here.
To confirm your place and enrol at Matthew Arnold Sixth Form, complete the “Enrolment Form” on your Applicaa account. Matthew Arnold students will be able to access their account from 9.30am and External students will be able to access their account from 12.00pm on Thursday 20th August. We advise you to enrol as soon as possible to secure your place in your chosen subjects. The deadline is 5pm on Tuesday 25th August.

If you are interested in a place at Matthew Arnold Sixth Form then please apply through Applicaa. All applications will be processed and considered from 1st September when school re-opens from the summer holidays. Please note our entry requirements below:
“For entry into Sixth Form we use a system based on a students' APS (average point score) from their GCSE results to enable students to select the most appropriate subjects at A-Level. Our minimum entry requirements, in order to begin A-Level's, are that students achieve at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English language and mathematics at a grade 4 and students must also meet the APS of their chosen subject. “
Sixth Form Course Guide 2026 - 2027
An Appeal can be made by students who hold a conditional offer of a place at Matthew Arnold Sixth Form. This is if you have just missed your English Language/Literature or maths grade 4 (not both), but have the APS for your subjects. You can still be considered for Sixth Form and re-take the GCSE. You should come to the GCSE Advice Clinic which is at 9am - 12pm on Friday 21st August in the canteen. and see one of the staff there to help fill in the appeals form so we can advise you. If you cannot attend please fill in the “Appeals Form” on your Applicaa account by 5pm on Tuesday 25th August 2026.
